
Richard T. Kang, MD
Richard T. Kang, MD is a board-eligible Pain Management physician who is a board certified Anesthesiologist at Spine and Pain Consultants of New York.
Dr. Kang received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, CT and residency training in anesthesiology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan, which included extensive training in nerve blocks and neuraxial anesthesia. He completed subspecialty training in pain management at St. Luke's-Roosevelt. Through that busy practice, his knowledge, skills, and expertise in interventional procedures broadened in the treatment of different pain syndromes.
Dr. Kang uses innovative technologies to alleviate pain syndromes and reduce reliance on potentially addictive medications such as morphine. Advanced interventional pain management procedures may be performed at Spine and Pain Consultants of New York's state-of-the-art facility with the utmost attention to patient safety and quality care.
Dr. Kang's special interests include spine-related pain syndromes, sports and occupational joint injuries, and chronic pain.
